Traditional Acupuncture is a complete health care approach, which focuses on the prevention and treatment of disease. Sub-optimal health is considered to be due to an imbalance of energy. Acupuncturists work with your body's energy flow which travels along well-defined pathways called meridians. Our Doctor of Acupuncture, Dr. Leanne, will aim to encourage optimized energy flow in your body by inserting very thin needles at specific points along your meridians. Scientific evidence has confirmed that acupuncture may induce biochemical changes in your body which help to facilitate healing. Dr. Leanne loves to work with a variety of clients interested in improving their overall health and wellness. Some conditions that may be improved with acupuncture include migraines and headaches; digestive issues; women's health (perimenopause and menopause); insomnia; stress management and pain & inflammation management.

Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) calms the nervous system, relaxes the body and is pain free, all while producing incredible results. Unlike stretching that attempts to isolate and stretch specific muscles, FST targets the fascia. To stretch the fascia, a certified FST therapist gently pulls then moves the legs, arms, spine and neck in a smooth motion at various angles to remove pressure between the joints, release joint lubricating synovial fluid and improve flexibility of muscle. Our stretch therapist works along our team of chiropractors and massage therapists to help resolve common issues such as: Plantar fasciitis, sciatica, piriformis syndrome and other gait related injuries.

Dr. Leanne has an extensive background within health and wellness spanning nearly two decades. Fueled by a deep curiosity to understand people, the body and this human experience, her career has been an ever-evolving journey. Beginning with Kinesiology and then Nursing, she gained experience working with people of all ages and spanning various health needs. Although Nursing afforded many valuable skills and opportunities, there was always a deep sense that something was missing. For years Dr. Leanne felt drawn to Eastern philosophy and energy-based healing modalities. It was ultimately within this realm that she experienced the greatest success within her own health and wellbeing. Inspired by her personal experiences and wanting to share these practices with others, she completed the Diploma in Acupuncture, including a 700-hour residency, at the Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.   Her unique background and expertise support Leanne in addressing a variety of concerns including headaches/migraines, digestive disorders, mental and emotional health, insomnia, pain, fatigue/energy levels, women’s health and fertility. Leanne’s approach bridges ancient medicine and natural methods with science and western collaboration to provide holistic solutions that improve your health and quality of life. Through building meaningful relationships and applying a multi-facetted approach, she provides comprehensive care and support for her patients. Leanne empowers patients with knowledge and tools to create lasting change and support their health and wellbeing far beyond the treatment room.   To foster harmony in her own life she enjoys mountain biking, reading, soaking up sunshine, traveling – mainly to places to soak up sunshine, and any excuse to snuggle with her bulldog.
